Team KIXXX Spaghetti Dinner - August 21, 2010 - Stadium Grill
AKA Grands and Erie
Open
Team
KIXXX competed in two separate tournaments during the
Father's Day weekend - the AKA Grand National Tournament
(NASKA) in Louisville, KY and the Erie Open (PKC) in
Erie, PA). Eighteen of the team members competed
in Louisville, including our youngest competitor,
Makenna, at 5 years old. There were many 1st
places through Finalist wins for the team members,
including Demo Team 3rd place (after KICK Team and Team
100 Percent). Jake Markuz and Austin Bolt
represented the team well as they clinched 1st places at
the National level in the PKC circuit. It was a
great weekend reconnecting with friends and competitors
on the circuit!
The
Cleveland Asian Festival was a great success, attracting
more than 6,000 visitors in one day. The Karate
Institute Demo Team performed along with several
other martial arts schools in the area. Click on

April 9-10 was a big weekend for the
competition team. Eight members participated at the Ocean State Grand (NASKA)
tournament. Demo team placed 2nd out of 5, two of whom were seeded.
Received $200 prize money from that. Fourteen members competed at the
Legends (PKC) tournament. Several received 2009 State Championship

2010 KidShow
The
students of the Karate Institute outdid themselves as they performed for
the crowd over the weekend at the 2010 KidShow at Great Lakes Mall.
With team size of over 50 members, the demo team moved liked a well
oiled machine with power and energy that come from lots of practice and
discipline. Everyone from the Lil' Dragons to the adult karateka
brought their love for the martial arts to their performance and
projected it into the audience. We are also very lucky to have so
many talented and generous photographers in our KI families.
Thanks to them, you can view pictures of the team's performances here, or go to our
facebook page for more comments.

It is something that we have always
known and strongly believed in here at the Karate Institute:
Family martial arts classes boost confidence, improve fitness
and cement family bonds.
In a recent article by the same
title, Jeanette Moninger from Preventionmagazine
explores how the martial arts can benefit everyone from young
children to adult. Moninger asserts that the sport has
become very much a
family affair
by providing multiple benefits from helping to
bully-proof kids, to sharpening focus for kids
with ADHD, to
empowering
mothers and daughters. To read more of this article and
